Real life Wedding, Sharon & Paul

How did you and Paul meet?
Paul & I met almost 8 years ago. We were both newly divorced and had registered on an internet dating website. Paul was the first person I arranged to meet on there so the £10 registration fee was definitely the best £10 I ever spent!!
How did Paul propose?
Paul made a surprise wedding proposal on my 40th birthday in January 2011 at a beautiful hotel at Lake Windermere. We decided that we wanted to marry within the year and have a winter wedding so we started to look for a suitable venue.
How did you find/choose the stunning East Lodge hotel?
We knew we wanted a small, intimate wedding with just 28 close family and friends attending. Having trawled the internet, East Lodge Country House Hotel came up as a suitable option but we thought it would be out of our price bracket as it looked so beautiful. We arranged a visit and fell in love immediately, it was just perfect for our needs. We booked our wedding day there and then for Friday 13th January 2012. 13 is our lucky number!!! The fact we had exclusive use was a major factor in our choice as we didn’t want to share our special day with another wedding party. The staff at East Lodge were
extremely friendly and professional throughout the whole wedding planning process.
How did you come across Tineke floral designs?
It was East Lodge who recommended Tineke as their in-house florist and spoke very highly of you. Charlotte, the wedding co-coordinator at East Lodge had also booked Tineke for her own wedding so that was praise enough for us!
How did you find choosing your Wedding flowers?
I arranged a meeting with Kerry at her new shop in Matlock and was made to feel at ease straight away. Kerry is so friendly, down to earth and approachable and full of creative ideas. After our first meeting I felt very confident that she understood the look I was trying to create. I knew I wanted a hand tied posy style bouquet which incorporated my favourite flowers of cream hydrangeas, freesias, roses along with some greenery. I also wanted a splash of colour in there, a deep dusky pink colour and Kerry suggested Veronicas and also to use eucalyptus to pick up the silver from our colour scheme. The buttonholes were a combination of cream spray roses, eucalyptus and genista for it’s lovely scent. The ladies wrist corsages were cream freesias, genista and eucalyptus.
Did Tineke achieve the look you were hoping for?
When I arrived at East Lodge on our wedding day, I had an idea in my head of how I thought the flowers would look but I was completely blown away by them! They were absolutely stunning and also smelt gorgeous as well. Kerry’s experience and knowledge had definitely created the ‘wow factor’ for us and we were so pleased with the result.
How would you summarise your big day?
Our ‘wedding day’ was actually a ‘wedding weekend’ as we also had another wedding reception on the following night for 140 guests with a live band at Mickleover Court Hotel. All of our flowers were used again, in fact my bouquet and the table arrangements were still going strong 2 weeks later. All in all, it was a truly perfect wedding weekend!!

We are very excited to be providing wedding flowers in Cuba! I think the most exciting part of this is that we are choosing the flowers once we are there with the Bride, I can’t wait to see what Cuba has to offer – photos to follow!

With this is mind, myself and Jo have decided to transform the shop into a cuban inspired display, including tropical flowers such as heliconias, Strelitzias and to include old suitcases, cigars and brightly coloured bunting!

Sexy Heliconias in the background

What a fabulous week!

Good evening all

Just relaxing with a glass of wine after a very successful and fun wedding fair at Holme Pierpont Hall Nottingham organised by Tillyboo events and now reflecting on this week and the fabulous 2012 Wedding Industry Awards ceremony at Cafe de Paris London on Wednesday.

We were very proud to win the award for best Wedding florist for the East Midlands 2012, here is me with my fantastic team!

Left to right, John, Kerry, Andy and Shaun

It was great to see a couple of East Midlands winners also win the national award, James White Hair and Dennisson Cars!

I was so touched to read the customer comments that were sent to us after the event, a few snippets below:

Everyone at Tineke provided us with fantastic service and gorgeous flowers. Kerry helped and advised us on what would work for us and her knowledge was outstanding and this helped us to create exactly what we had in mind. When I saw the reception venue it took my breath away, we couldnt have asked for more. My bridal bouquet was exactly what I had asked for and had always dreamt of. Fantastic.

i would not hesitate to recommend them, customer service is second to none. attention to detail is exceptional. i would never since my wedding order flowers from anywhere else. any bride would be silly to not use tineke. kerry and her team deserve this award for their ongoing success, continuing dedication and stunning floristry.

What can I say about my wedding flowers – Stunning!!! They were everything that I had wished for and more. I remember the moment I saw the bridal bouquet at my mums. It really did take my breath away and this was only the start. The pedestals that we had on either side of the aisle were amazing. They smelt beautiful and look fantastic on all of the wedding photos :-) We then moved onto the meal. The table centres were incredible – probably my favourite part. I had spent over a year with an image in my head of what I wanted and these flowers exceeded all of my expectations. The theme I had decided upon was different flowers on each table and each one looked amazing. The only downside was that I really could not concentrate on my wedding meal as I was far too busy looking at the different flowers on each table;-) One of the most important things for myself and my husband was that the flowers were fresh and lasted. This was because we wanted to take some of the flowers down to my husband’s mums grave. Although she sadly could not be with us on our special day we felt that taking the flowers would help us to feel like she was a part of the day. The flowers that we took were beautiful and we were proud to leave this for her. I received compliments all through the day about the flowers and I am still receiving them now. So I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Kerry and the team at Tineke. You really did help to make my day perfect. Thank you x x x

From the first time i talked to kerry on the phone i knew she was the right person to take the ideas in my head and transform them beyond my expectations. Over the months she has become a friend that made every meeting and phone call enjoyable and her professionalism and creativity has meant that he flowers took my breath away when i saw them on my wedding day and was one of the main topics spoken about on the day and the following day when i went to pick my bird cages up the wedding organizers said that the florist that had just dropped the flowers off for the next wedding had commented on how beautiful they were compared to theirs…….. what more do i need to say

excellent service, there was no need to worry as the confidence given from tineke staff was excellent. it was a stress free day knowing i was able to trust tineke with the hall decorations, and the amount of guests that loved the flowers and asked the name of the florist was exceptional.

Why They Booked (in random order)

because she had been recommended due to what an amazing person Kerry is and the service they offer

I spotted their creations at a wedding fair and decided I wasn’t going to look elsewhere!

For the amazing level of service and attention to detail.

My wedding co-ordinator had booked them for her wedding, so I felt that was high praise

Kerry was a friendly, helpful and just a down to earth person, which is what you want when you are trying to organise your wedding. I never felt pushed into anything and i felt that if i didnt liked something i could happily say so instead of feeling scared to voice my opinion. The flowers looked beautiful and i knew that the end result would look stunning.

I saw Tineke Floral Designs at a wedding fair that I attended with my mother. I was really impressed with how polite and helpful the women on the stand were. They offered advice and ideas without trying to pressure us into booking them. The flowers they had out on display looked really fresh and displays they had out showed me that they were able to create many different types of arrangement. Upon returning home I visited their website and again was very impressed with what I saw. The gallery pictures were really helpful and showed some of the different wedding flowers that Kerry and her team had done. We were impressed with everything we saw. I then arranged a meeting with Kerry to discuss the ideas I had for my wedding. Kerry was amazing. She listened carefully to the ideas I had and made suggestions which would help improve my ideas. I loved Kerry’s bubbly personality and enthusiasm for her job and was pleased that although I know very little about flowers, Kerry always listened carefully to my ideas and meeting with Kerry felt more like discussing my ideas with a close friend. After this meeting I came straight home and booked Tineke. It was a decision that I am so pleased I made.

could not find anyone better who could beat price, customer service, outstanding flowers. your wedding day is a winner if tineke floral designs are involved.

Professional service, reasonably priced compared with competition, original ideas.

I knew Kerry understood the look I wanted and her prices were very reasonable. She understands fashion and trends for weddings and knows how to interpret them for her customers. I had looked on her website and loved that she takes time to keep it updated and the Blog is great to see and hear about what she is up to on the run up to your wedding! I have since used Tineke for a Thank-you bouquet to our wedding co-ordinator at our Venue and the service & delivery was impeccable and The flowers were loved. Good Luck Kerry and Tineke x x x I come from a small town called Mansfield in North Nottinghamshire, I moved back here after living in London for a few years and working in the fashion buying industry. Once my partner and I decided to get married I was unsure of what to do about my flowers….I was also very worried because although I had a vision of what I wanted I was also concerned that I would not be able to find anyone in the Mansfield area who could replicate the look I had in my mind and at a good price. I wanted a vintage whimsical feel with pale pinks and whites, I had quite a fashionable look in my head and I know this may sound bad, but I did not think I could find a supplier who would understand this in the Mansfield area. I had been to all too many weddings where the flowers were quite ‘ordinary’. A friend of ours instantly reccomended Tineke. I went for two meetings with Kerry who put me at ease straightaway, she is a very happy and calm person – Both meetings were held in a beautuful shop on the entrance to Matlock – a gorgeous little village in the Peak District (her studio is in Mansfield), which she shares with Gracie Bleu bridalwear (who coincidentally I bought my dress from) I verbally told her my ideas and took a few pics along too – I knew right away that she understood what I wanted. It was plain to see that Kerry didnt just make up wedding flowers for her customers, she was also good at interpreting ideas and trends, whether it was colours, how they are made up or how to use the actual flower itself. Her portfolio certainly could sit in the magazines I had been reading over the past few months like Cosmo bride and Wedding magazine. You can see that Kerry and her team have a special touch and vision. I was over the moon I had found them for our wedding! We finally chose predominantly pinks/whites sweet avalanche & esperance roses with bouvardia and gypsophilia made up in 1 bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 9 buttonholes, 2 corsages 2 table displays, a large flower / registrar table display and about 40 small jars of flowers to dot around candelabras Kerry was flexible too when I changed my mind at the last minute over a couple of things! What also helped is that she could see my knowledge of flower names was very little and helped me by showing pictures and suggesting flowers that would compliment – without making me feel inferior. The 2nd meeting was to finalise the choices and numbers which again was made very easy and I came away feeling very confident that Tineke had been the right choice. Payment was also very easy and stress free, the paperwork came through in gorgeous heavy printed paper and envelopes with lovely faded flower prints – again just that little bit extra that made me feel special. Communication was excellent – replies were very quick and she always answered the phone. On the day itself the flowers were delivered by Kerry and her team with beaming smiles I really felt special. The flowers took my breath away and I was reduced to tears…as were my mum and maids. They surpassed even what I had in my mind. Every flower was absolutely perfect. And the colours were divine. The central table display was amazing – really different to anything I had seen before. The guests also said they looked good enough to eat!! I really felt that the flowers made my wedding, they pulled off the look I wanted to a tee. Vintage & whimsical whilst being on trend, classy and modern. I could not stop looking at them all day and wanted them to last forever. Kerry and her Tineke team are deserved winners of this award. It is clear to see she has worked very hard to get the business where it is now – working all hours of the day, but making it appear like you are her only customer. Tineke have a magic about them that we feel deserve this wonderful wedding industry accolade.

Kerry was very helpful and smiley when we went the Gracie Bleu open day.

because they looked and sounded professional and knew exactly what i wanted in the first consultation, they kept me informed and updated with new and better flowers, and i left it to them to create such beautiful centre peices

Recommended by wedding venue

Because of the knowledge of the staff and the fiendly helpful attitude we received at every visit.

They were very friendly, bubbily and generally excited about my wedding. I called three florists and 1 didnt even get back with a quote, the second left an answer phone message and never tried again and tineke was on the phone several times before reaching me. she sent over pics via email as we were so far apart and arranged meetings that suited us when we were traveling home.

Tineke were by far the most modern and approachable florist we found.

It’s marketing material looked young, dynamic and personable which is what was delivered. Exactly what I was wanting in my wedding florist.

because of kerrys lovely personality and her ability to make my thoughts turn into reality

Because they had done a lot of work with the venue we booked and when we went to a wedding open day at the venue, their designs were beautiful and a very reasonable price.

Because the standard of their work looked excellent

Their modern design and excellent customer service

liked the modern and contemporary designs

Ready for another busy week with 2 Weddings this coming weekend.

Take care all

Kerry xxx

We adore…East Lodge Country House Hotel

Good evening

We are coming up to 8 weeks trading in our new shop at Matlock, and pleased to say so far, so good! We have won the award for the best wedding florist in the East Midlands during this time, and have also been involved with 4 amazing Weddings -0f which I will post pictures of shortly.

After an eventful few weeks, we decided that we would treat ourselves to dinner and a stay in the fabulous East Lodge Hotel in Rowsley, Derbyshire, of whom we love to work with on a regular basis.

Well, what a treat it was! From the very moment we walked into the hotel, we immediately felt at ease, welcomed and relaxed. The staff at East Lodge really are fantastic.

We were shown to our AMAZING room -  the bridal suite – gorgeous four poster bed, with a lovely roll top bath – and TV!!! We didn’t really want to leave, but was looking forward to the dinner in the award winning restaurant – food was just stunning.

That is not me in the bath!!!

I think I may have scared my other half whilst perusing their wedding brochure………!

We came across images from a Wedding that we provided the flowers for back in January this year, in all of that snow! Images by Karl Bratby.

I think the fact that the Groom pictured runs a michelin star Restaurant on the Isle of Wight says a lot about the food here!

Diana and Rob January 2011If you are looking for somewhere special to eat in Derbyshire or a luxury night away, then please consider East Lodge – you won’t be disappointed x
